Cancer Care Northwest is the premier center for cancer care in the Inland Northwest, having been founded 40 years ago as the only privately-owned, fully integrated cancer center in the region. Our commitment to becoming the leading provider of integrated, comprehensive cancer care services has remained unchanged throughout the decades.

Dr. Turner Wood, a highly respected cancer physician, established Cancer Care Northwest as Spokane Oncology & Hematology in 1975. In 1999, the practice was purchased by U.S. Oncology, a nationwide network of oncology practices, enabling us to expand our services and recruit leading oncologists. In 1999, Cancer Care Northwest moved into a 23,500-square-foot facility in south Spokane, becoming the first fully integrated cancer center in the Inland Northwest.

Our South Clinic offers comprehensive cancer care at one convenient location, including on-site lab, nursing, medical oncology, surgical oncology, and diagnostic imaging. In early 2021, we further expanded our services by moving our PET/CT Center to a newly renovated wing of the South Clinic and purchasing the Discovery IQ 4-ring PET/CT scanner. This machine provides patients with a decreased scan time, decreased isotope and radiation dose, and an ultra-high sensitivity imaging experience with access to two powerful diagnostic procedures that when combined, can detect cancer in its earliest stages.
