Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center

 

The Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC) is a comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute. It is based at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and combines advanced cancer research at Dartmouth College and the Geisel School of Medicine with patient-centered cancer care provided at various locations throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.

Founded in 1972 as the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, it was designated as a Clinical Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute in 1978 and a Comprehensive Cancer Center in 1980.

As of 2021, it is one of 51 NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and one of three in New England. The mission of DCC is to understand the causes of cancer, provide effective and compassionate clinical care, and educate communities about preventing cancer. The center offers access to research-based care, advanced technologies, and clinical trials for patients, and specialists at DCC treat all types of cancer using various techniques such as diagnostics, imaging, medical and radiation oncology, surgical oncology, bone marrow transplantation, and immunotherapy.
