The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UT Southwestern or UTSW) is a public academic health science center located in Dallas, Texas. It is the largest medical school in the University of Texas System and the state of Texas, with approximately 18,800 employees, more than 2,900 full-time faculty members, and nearly 4 million outpatient visits per year.

UT Southwestern’s William P. Clements Jr University Hospital is nationally ranked in nine specialties by U.S. News & World Report and is considered the best hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas region. With an operating budget of more than $4.1 billion, the institution offers a three-part mission that focuses on educating leaders in patient care, biomedical science, and disease prevention; conducting research; and delivering patient care.

UT Southwestern is affiliated with four major hospitals, including Parkland Memorial Hospital, Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Zale Lipshy Pavilion – William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, and William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. Additionally, faculty and residents provide care in more than 80 specialties through additional services at Scottish Rite for Children, VA North Texas Health Care System, and other affiliated hospitals and community clinics in the North Texas region.
