Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University
Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is a leading cancer research and patient care center located in Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1937, it was named after Robert Winship in honor of his mother who died from breast cancer by Coca-Cola CEO Robert W. Woodruff.
The center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Georgia. With the support of the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, Inc, the institute opened a 275,000 square feet building in 2003 to continue its focus on research, education, and patient care.
