About Alexander Patterson

Dr. Alexander Patterson is a specialist in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He has extensive experience in lung transplantation, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, emphysema, thoracic surgery, and lung volume reduction. Dr. Patterson’s research interests include clinical trials for lung and esophageal oncology, and lung transplantation preservation. Dr. Patterson received his MD from Queens University in Kingston, Canada in 1974.

He completed his training with a Resident in surgery at Queens University (1974-1978), Resident in vascular surgery at University of Toronto (1978-1979), Resident in thoracic surgery at University of Toronto (1979-1981) and a Fellow in pulmonary medicine at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore (1981-1982). He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in General Surgery (1978), Thoracic Surgery (1981) and Vascular Surgery (1983).
