About Stephen Graziano

Dr. Stephen Graziano, MD, originally from Minneapolis, has been a steadfast presence in Syracuse since completing his medical education at the University of Minnesota. Following his graduation, he undertook his residency in internal medicine locally and then pursued a fellowship in the same area. Since 1985, Dr. Graziano has served as an attending physician at Upstate, specializing in hematology-oncology.

Board-certified in hematology-oncology, Dr. Graziano manages a broad spectrum of conditions, ranging from solid tumors and hematologic malignancies to benign hematological issues such as anemias and low platelet counts. He is an integral part of the Thoracic Oncology Program at Upstate, which is known for its comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach. This program frequently sees patients with new lung masses identified on chest X-rays or CT scans, and Dr. Graziano is a key member of the team that evaluates and treats these cases.

Dr. Graziano is committed to the concept of personalized medicine, emphasizing the unique nature of each patient’s age, demographics, other medical conditions, and disease stage. He strives to tailor treatments specifically to each patient's needs, focusing on educating patients and spending quality time with their families to support them through their medical journeys. As the Division Chief of the Upstate Cancer Center Adult Hematology/Oncology, Dr. Graziano’s leadership and expertise play a critical role in advancing the center's mission and enhancing patient care.
