About Dong M. Shin
Dr. Dong Moon Shin is a highly respected medical oncologist known for his expertise in treating head and neck cancer and thyroid cancer. He is also a leading researcher in the fields of new drug development in nanotechnology, molecular targeted therapy, and chemoprevention.
He holds several positions at Emory University School of Medicine including Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Professor of Otolaryngology, and Director of the Head and Neck Cancer SPORE Program. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and has been recognized as one of America's Top Doctors in Oncology by Castle Connolly Medial Ltd. and Top Doctors in Atlanta magazine since 2005.
Dr. Shin completed his medical education at Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea, and completed internships and residencies in the US before completing his fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
He has received several awards and honors, including the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) Overseas Compatriots Award in Science and Technology, and being elected a Fellow of the American Association of the Advancement of Science (FAAAS) in 2016.
