About Gary M. Hochheiser

Dr. Gary M Hochheiser is the Director of Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Oncology and Medical Director for the Lung Screening Program at Maine Medical Center. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures in the treatment of thoracic diseases including both benign and malignant diseases of the lung, esophagus, and pleura. He has experience in surgical treatment of lung and esophageal cancer as well as lung-sparing cancer surgery.

He also has an interest in both benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus including reflux, hiatal hernia and esophageal motility disorders. Dr. Hochheiser is board certified in Thoracic Surgery (Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery) since 2007. He completed his fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Thoracic Surgery in 2004, residency at Maine Medical Center in 2001 and Medical School at University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1996.
