About Hedy Lee Kindler

Dr. Hedy Lee Kindler is a leading cancer expert with a specialization in the medical treatment of pancreatic cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and malignant mesothelioma. She is dedicated to investigating novel agents for the treatment of these cancers and leads many innovative clinical trials for patients.

Dr. Kindler is an associate editor of Lung Cancer, and her research has been published in various journals, articles, book chapters and abstracts. She is a well-known speaker, and has given lectures at numerous scientific meetings all over the world.

She is the former president of the International Mesothelioma Interest Group, and actively involved in various committees and boards, including the Science Advisory Board of the Mesothelioma Foundation, the NCI Pancreatic Cancer Task Force and the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology.

Named multiple times in Best Doctors in America, America’s Top Doctors for Cancer and Top Doctors in Chicago, Dr. Kindler recently received the Selikoff Lifetime Achievement Award from the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. Her specialties include Hematology and Oncology (Cancer) with expertise in Pancreatic Cancer and Mesothelioma. She practice at Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) in Hyde Park.

Dr. Kindler is Board Certified in Medical Oncology, and a member of several professional organizations such as American Association for Cancer Research, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology and American Society of Clinical Oncology and International Mesothelioma Interest Group.

She has been practicing since 1995 and is fluent in English. Dr. Kindler received her medical education from the State University of New York College of Medicine, completed her residency at University of California Los Angeles Health and Montefiore Medical Center, and her fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Kindler is also currently involved in various research studies, including a Phase I Study of IAG933 in Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma and Other Solid Tumors, Chemotherapy With or Without Immunotherapy for Peritoneal Mesothelioma, Study to Evaluate VT3989 in Patients With Metastatic Solid Tumors Enriched for Tumors With NF2 Gene Mutations, and many more.
