About Hossein Borghaei

Dr. Hossein Borghaei is a specialist in the field of Hematology/Oncology, with a focus on thoracic medical oncology. He holds the position of Chief of the Division of Thoracic Medical Oncology, Professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology, Co-Director of the Immune Monitoring Facility, and the Gloria and Edmund M. Dunn Chair in Thoracic Oncology.

His specialties include endobronchial disease, lung cancer, lung metastases, mesothelioma, and thymoma. He leads a research program in molecular therapeutics and has a strong interest in the development of new cancer treatments, particularly in the use of immunotherapy and monoclonal antibodies.

Dr. Borghaei believes in a team approach to the care of patients with lung cancer, and is committed to providing the best level of care possible. He is active in clinical trials and lung cancer screening research, with the goal of detecting lung cancer early and preventing recurrences. He received his DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and Medical Oncology.

He is a member of several professional societies, including the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.
