About J.F. Pingpank Jr.
Dr. James F. Pingpank Jr., MD, FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery. He received his baccalaureate degree from Amherst College and his MD from The George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, a residency at the University of Connecticut and a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center. He has published several articles which can be reviewed on PubMed.
Dr. Pingpank’s interests and expertise include the treatment of patients with primary and metastatic gastrointestinal cancers. He also has a specific interest in regional treatment strategies for advanced malignancies of the liver and peritoneal cavity, including: Placement of hepatic arterial infusion pumps for patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and unresectable colorectal metastases to the liver, Isolated hepatic perfusion with melphalan for patients with metastatic ocular melanoma to the liver and Cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC for patients with peritoneal metastases from mucinous tumors of the appendix, colorectal cancer, and primary peritoneal mesothelioma.
He is a part of the Hepatobiliary Surgery division and has received Technology Transfer Awards from the Center for Cancer Research, NCI, NIH in 2005 and 2007.
