About Jeffrey Velotta

Dr. Jeffrey Velotta is a thoracic surgeon at Oakland Medical Center with a focus on minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery, image-guided techniques for small lung nodules, and multimodality treatment of mesothelioma. He is committed to maintaining Kaiser Permanente in Oakland as a center of excellence and providing the highest quality of patient care.

In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Velotta is a clinical Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine where he teaches and trains medical students and surgery residents. He is also involved in surgical quality research, with ongoing studies on novel ways to provide better pain relief after thoracic surgery, multimodality treatment of mesothelioma, and outcomes for never-smokers with lung cancer.

Dr. Velotta's wife is also a physician at Kaiser Permanente and together they prioritize patient care.
