About Joseph Treat

Dr. Joseph Treat is a Professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology, Vice Chair of Education, and Medical Director of Ambulatory Care at Fox Chase Cancer Center. He specializes in Endobronchial Disease, Lung Cancer, Lung Metastases, Mesothelioma and Thymoma. His research program focuses on Molecular Therapeutics.

He is a medical oncologist who has been devoted to seeing patients with a diagnosis of lung cancer or mesothelioma since 1991, and is involved in a wide range of studies in lung cancer, some of which involve new drugs. He works within an experienced multi-specialty team of surgeons, radiation oncologists, and pulmonists all of whom have a devotion and interest in the diagnosis, treatment and care of the patient with a chest malignancy.

He joined Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1999. He completed his Fellow in Medical Oncology at Lombardi Cancer Center, Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC, Resident in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC, and received his Medical Degree from Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University in 1979.
