About Justin M. Weis

Dr. Weis is a dedicated physician affiliated with FF Thompson, Strong Memorial, and Highland Hospital. He actively works to enhance the integration of critical care networks across the region by leveraging the expertise of the academic medical center through the UR FF Thompson collaboration. Dr. Weis is deeply committed to enhancing the quality and safety of patient care and fosters opportunities for medical education in community settings. His clinical skills include performing bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, tube thoracostomy, and vascular access for patients with various disorders.

Dr. Weis earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2007. He then moved to Rochester, NY, for an Internal Medicine Residency, where he and his wife, Emily, who is originally from Geneseo, NY, participated in a couples match for their training. Following his residency, Dr. Weis was appointed as an Internal Medicine Chief Resident from 2010 to 2011 at the University of Rochester.

His fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Rochester included participation in basic science research focused on interstitial lung disease, under the guidance of Dr. Patricia Sime and R. Matthew Kottmann.

In the summer of 2014, Dr. Weis joined the UR Medicine Pulmonary and Critical Care Faculty, where he has continued to make significant contributions to both patient care and medical education.
