About Michael D. Kluger
Dr. Michael Kluger is a specialist in liver and pancreas surgery with a focus on the treatment of pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, gallbladder disease, and metastases to the liver and abdominal peritoneum. He employs a multidisciplinary approach to provide personalized treatment plans that aim to maximize survival and quality of life for his patients. He is well-versed in minimally invasive procedures and utilizes laparoscopy when appropriate.
Dr. Kluger completed his medical education at New York University School of Medicine, where he received awards for bioethics and community service. He completed his surgical residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he was selected as the Administrative Chief Resident and received the Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award.
He received advanced training in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery at Hospital Henri Mondor in France under Professor Daniel Cherqui. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of several professional organizations.
Dr. Kluger has received numerous honors, including Castle Connolly Top Doctors, New York Presbyterian Hospital Physician of the Year, Society of Surgery of the Alimentary Tract Hepatobiliary Sub-Committee, Super Doctors Rising Stars, and Excellence in Teaching Award from Weill Cornell Medical College.
