About Michal Lada
Dr. Michal J. Lada is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Thoracic and Foregut Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and was awarded his medical degree from Jagiellonian University Medical College.
Dr. Lada's postgraduate training included a General Surgery internship and residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he also spent two years as a research fellow focusing on esophageal cancer and motility disorders. He completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery training at the same institution as part of the 4+3 General Surgery/Thoracic Surgery Combined Program.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Lada has authored or co-authored numerous publications and regularly presents his work on thoracic and foregut surgery at both national and international forums. He is a member of several prestigious societies, including The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American Association for Thoracic Surgery, American College of Surgeons, General Thoracic Surgical Club, and the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus.
His clinical interests are broad and include minimally invasive thoracic surgery, lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, and esophageal diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's Esophagus, and esophageal cancer. Dr. Lada is committed to providing patient-centered care that emphasizes compassion, effective communication, and the latest in surgical treatment options. He holds certifications from the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery.
