About Nabil Wasif
Dr. Nabil Wasif is an MD with a focus on cancer research, particularly malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas and breast, as well as melanoma. He is interested in using large cancer databases to study quality of care, disparities in care, and outcomes following treatment.
His ongoing projects include studying the overuse of diagnostic imaging for melanoma and its cost implications, decision analysis modeling for surgical management of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas, and outcomes following treatment of small bowel carcinoid tumors.
Dr. Wasif received his MPH from Harvard School of Public Health, clinical fellowship in surgical oncology from John Wayne Cancer Institute, research fellowship from UCLA Center for Surgical Outcomes, resident in general surgery from New York Presbyterian Hospital, research fellowships from Laboratory for Gene Therapy Research and Laboratory for Wound Healing and Tissue Culture at Weill Cornell Medical College, and MB BS from Aga Khan University Medical College.
