About Ramaswamy Govindan

Dr. Ramaswamy Govindan is a Medical Oncologist who is an Anheuser Busch Endowed Chair in Medical Oncology, a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Oncology, and a Director of the Section of Medical Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine. He specializes in caring for patients diagnosed with esophageal and lung cancer through treatment and recovery. His research interests include the management of lung cancer, mesothelioma and esophageal cancer, and developing clinical trials for patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

Dr. Govindan received his MD from University of Madras in Madras, India in 1986. He completed his training with a Resident in internal medicine at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry, India (1987-1991), Intern and resident in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago (1991-1993) and Fellow in hematology and oncology at Washington University, St. Louis (1993-1996).
