About Rami Manochakian
Dr. Rami Manochakian is a thoracic medical oncologist currently working at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his medical degree from the University of Aleppo in Syria and completed his Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at the University at Buffalo, NY. He also completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship and served as chief fellow at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH.
He specializes in treating patients with thoracic malignancies such as lung cancer, mesothelioma, and thymic tumors. He has experience in clinical research, has helped develop and run multiple cancer clinical trials, and was the director of the lung cancer program at the Cleveland VA Medical Center.
He is highly involved in education and leadership, participating and leading many educational activities at Mayo Clinic, and serving in education and advisory roles on national and international medical societies such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Lung Association (ALA), and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC).
He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (2012) and has received various awards and honors such as the Internal Medicine Top Faculty Teacher (for Hematology/Oncology) for the 2020/2021 academic year, ASCO advocacy champion at the Senator's club level (2019 honoree) , and ASCO education Scholar (2019) among others.
He is also a member of various professional societies such as the Guideline Panelist - American Society of Clinical Oncology, ASP Council Member - ASP Council, Association of Specialty Professors, Program Directors Committee - American Society of Clinical Oncology, and Education Committee Member - Mayo Clinic Cancer Center.
