About Robert B. Cameron

Dr. Robert B. Cameron is a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is the Founding Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery and the Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.

He specializes in surgery of the lungs, pleura, esophagus, chest wall, mediastinum and diaphragm. His areas of expertise include mesothelioma, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, thymus tumors, pectus deformities, hyperhidrosis, thoracic outlet syndrome and lung volume reduction surgery.

He offers a range of services from cancer screening to advanced clinical treatment trials and uses the latest surgical techniques such as lasers, bronchial and esophageal stents and video and computer-assisted surgery. He is Board certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery and Surgery and has completed fellowships at New York Hospital - Cornell University Medical Center and the National Cancer Institute, and residencies at UCLA School of Medicine.
