About Ryan Holbrook
Dr. Ryan F. Holbrook, MD, FACS is an experienced cancer surgeon who specializes in all cancers of the intestinal tract, with a particular focus on cancers of the liver and pancreas. Additionally, he has expertise in the surgical treatment of melanoma and soft tissue sarcomas.
Dr. Holbrook has introduced innovative surgical techniques to the Inland Northwest, including sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer and melanoma, as well as the use of Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) for liver cancers. He also pioneered the use of Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) in the Pacific Northwest for the treatment of peritoneal (abdominal) surface malignancies.
Dr. Holbrook received his medical education at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, IL and completed his internship at New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. He completed his residency in general surgery at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME and went on to complete fellowships in Biliary Disease at Massachusetts General Hospital with a joint appointment at New England Medical Center, Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY, and Pancreas, Liver, and Biliary Surgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
