About Sameera S. Kumar
Assistant Professor of Oncology, Dr. Sameera Kumar specializes in the treatment of esophageal cancer, lung cancer, lung metastases, mesothelioma, and thymoma.
Her philosophy of care is centered around providing individualized treatment plans for each patient, taking into account their unique medical history, the stage and type of their cancer, and their personal preferences and goals for treatment. She stays up to date on the latest research and developments in oncology, and incorporate evidence-based therapies and techniques into their practice.
The goal is to provide the highest quality care and achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients. Dr. Sameera Kumar is a Radiation Oncologist who completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Kentucky from July 2014 to June 2018. During this time, she also served as the Chief Resident from 2017 to 2018.
She is currently a PhD candidate in Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Kentucky, starting January 2015. Dr. Sameera Kumar earned her MD from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2013. She is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology.
