About Scott N. Gettinger
Dr. Scott Gettinger is a renowned expert in the field of lung cancer treatment and research. He holds the position of Professor of Internal Medicine (Medical Oncology) and Chief of Thoracic Medical Oncology at Yale University.
His expertise lies in the field of immunotherapy and targeted therapy for non-small cell lung cancer, and he leads several clinical trials to evaluate new treatments for patients with lung cancer. His research interests include understanding the mechanisms of sensitivity and resistance to molecularly targeted therapies and immunotherapies.
Dr. Gettinger received his MD from Brooklyn College in 1999, and prior to that, earned a BS from Trinity College (CT) in 1991. He then went on to complete his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, NY in 2002, and became a Fellow at the same institution in 2005. He is affiliated with several departments and organizations such as Center for Thoracic Cancers, Developmental Therapeutics, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, SPORE in Lung Cancer, Subset Medical Oncology Faculty, Yale Cancer Center, Yale Medicine and Yale Ventures.
