About Serban A. Staicu
Dr. Staicu completed his undergraduate studies in human biology at Cornell University before earning his medical degree from New York Medical College. He furthered his medical training by completing both an internal medicine residency and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. Additionally, during his fellowship, he contributed as a post-doctoral research fellow at the R. James White Lab in the Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute, focusing on groundbreaking research in pulmonary hypertension.
Presently, Dr. Staicu serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He initially gained extensive clinical experience as a hospitalist at Highland Hospital for one year between his residency and fellowship training. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases, underscoring his expertise in these areas.
Dr. Staicu is actively involved in patient care across several hospitals, including Highland Hospital, F.F. Thompson Hospital, and Strong Memorial Hospital. Here, he manages a spectrum of pulmonary disorders, such as pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and lung malignancies, and provides critical care services in their intensive care units. For outpatient care, Dr. Staicu consults at the Physicians Office Building Pulmonary Clinic on Highland Hospital’s campus, the Mary Parkes Center for Asthma, Allergy, and Pulmonary Care in Henrietta, and the recently established F.F. Thompson Pulmonary Clinic in Canandaigua, ensuring comprehensive pulmonary healthcare delivery across a variety of settings.
