About Steven M. Albelda

Dr. Steven M. Albelda is a physician at Penn Medicine and holds the position of Vice Chief and Director of Lung Research in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine department. He is also the William Maul Measey Professor of Medicine. He is part of Penn Medicine's programs, such as the Penn Mesothelioma and Pleural Disease Program, which bring together doctors from various disciplines to provide coordinated care.

Dr. Albelda is Board Certified in Pulmonary Disease and obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the American Thoracic Society, and Sigma Xi, Research Society of North America, as an Associate Member.
