About Sudish Murthy
Dr. Sudish Murthy is a highly skilled thoracic surgeon with expertise in esophageal cancer, lung cancer, tracheal stenosis, and minimally invasive surgery. He is the Section Head of Thoracic Surgery, Surgical Director of the Center of Major Airway Disease, and a Staff Thoracic Surgeon at The Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic.
He also holds joint appointments with the Transplant Center and the Taussig Cancer Institute, as well as a professorship at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
With a focus on minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Murthy and the team at Cleveland Clinic perform over 1,700 thoracic procedures each year, with Dr. Murthy completing between 350-450 cases annually. Dr. Murthy earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a PhD in pathology from the University of British Columbia. He completed an internship and a residency in surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard University, Boston. He then continued there for a residency in cardiothoracic surgery.
He is a dedicated researcher and has published over 100 scientific articles in leading medical journals and a dozen chapters in medical textbooks.
