About Thomas E. Stinchcombe
Dr. Thomas E. Stinchcombe is a medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of lung cancer and mesothelioma. He is a part of the thoracic oncology program at Duke Cancer Center and works with patients who have been diagnosed with these types of cancer. His focus is on providing clinical care, participating in clinical trials, and developing new therapies for these diseases.
Dr. Stinchcombe believes in educating his patients about their diagnosis and the different treatment options available to them, including molecular therapy and immunotherapy. He is proud to be a part of an academic medical center, as it allows him to offer his patients access to the latest and most promising treatments.
He received his MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1995. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1998 and his fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 2001. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in medical oncology.
